Design & engineering

Few parts, lots of fun

The limited number of parts simplifies assembly and makes maintenance easier. The unit breaks down conveniently and stays light to carry when travelling.

  • Compact, light and comfortable DSV mouthpiece
  • Reinforced strength thanks to CNC machining from solid polyoxymethylene (POM)
  • Easy to maintain, valves easily checked

Compactness

Light as air, ready for adventure

A compactness that is very practical to transport, suited to underwater exploration and photography as much as to diving from a kayak, a paddleboard or any other small floating support.

  • Under 13 lbs (6 kg) ready to dive in the standard version
  • External Cordura™ 500D bag: extreme durability and optimal protection for the counterlung
  • Colours to choose at order: black, camouflage design (grey, blue, pink)

Other colours available on request (subject to how they render underwater).

A tribute to history

Hans Hass, the pioneer of silent exploration

In the 1940s, Austrian Hans Hass and his partner Lotte Hass were among the first to explore the seabed using a pure-oxygen rebreather, revealing the beauty of the oceans to the world through their legendary images.

The Salamander rebreather carries on this spirit of exploration, with all the reliability of modern engineering: total silence, extended endurance, and an unprecedented closeness to marine life.

The adventure continues.

Required level

Two paths to the Salamander

Easy to assemble and use, the Salamander remains a technical device: training is necessary, with a minimum qualification depending on the federation.

Advanced Diver / N2 / P**

Diver Level 2 / P** + advanced nitrox. Cross-over possible from other federations.

Open Water Diver / N1 / P*

Open Water Diver + standard nitrox (the nitrox certification can be taken during training).
